This page is intended to answer questions BBQ Teams may have revolving around our KCBS BBQ Competition.
Q. Is the BBQ Jamboree a KCBS Sanctioned Event?
Q. Does my team have to participate in the People’s Choice portion of the contest?
A. NO, But please keep in mind that this is a vital part of our event and will enable us to keep holding this event year after year.
Q. Can I cook my own meat for the People’s Choice portion of the contest?
A. YES, If you are participating in the People’s Choice you will be given a discounted entry fee rate, and in return the BBQ Jamboree asks that you cook a minumum of 25lbs of pork shoulder / butt (which ever you prefer).
Q. Does my team have to pay the $40.00 Health Department Fee for a Temporary Permit?
A. NO, The BBQ Jamboree will cover every teams $40.00 fee.
Q. If my BBQ team is not in the People’s Choice contest do we still need to fill out the health department form and have a health inspection conducted on Friday May 10th?
A. NO, you only need to be inspected by the Health Department if you are entering the People’s Choice.
Q. I have never had to have a Health Inspection at a BBQ Competition before, what is required?
A. Please refer to the Health Department Checklist Form on this site.
Q. Is there ample space for my RV / Rig?
A. YES, but the RV Hook Up spaces are limited and will be given out on a first come first serve basis.
